Career Profile
Leah Johnson is an experienced communications strategist and problem solver who has worked successfully across industries — and on local, national, and global platforms — to influence outcomes and lead change. She has led teams and advised Fortune 250 CEOs, non-profits and high-level political campaigns on how to define and promote brand value while navigating media firestorms and complex, challenging environments. She is viewed as a partner of choice for boards, senior executives and respected leaders seeking to influence stakeholders and build reputation across digital and traditional media platforms.

In 2009, Leah founded LCJ Solutions in order to bring her holistic strategic communications philosophy to clients. By combining expertise developed by
leading crisis management teams, creating message and coaching colleagues, she offers a highly integrated approach to reputation management.

LCJ Solutions has partnered with brands such as Conoco Phillips, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Ally Bank, General Atlantic portfolio companies and other first tier clients, to develop and promote their brand story, position executives, build market strength, and mitigate reputation risk.

Before founding LCJ Solutions, Leah served as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Citigroup Inc.
As chief communications advisor to four CEOs, Leah applied her messaging and problem solving skills to such
high-visibility challenge points as CEO succession, international money laundering, Mergers & Acquisitions,
subprime lending, and Wall Street research conflicts of interest.

Prior to joining Citigroup, Leah was Vice President of Corporate Communications for Standard & Poor’s. There, she created a global public affairs infrastructure across the ratings and equity businesses and crafted S&P’s
bond issuer conflict of interest communications strategy.

In the public sector, Leah served as Press Secretary for Mayor David N. Dinkins Reelection Campaign and Deputy Director for Communications for the Clinton-Gore ‘92 New York State Coordinated Campaign. In the Office of
the Deputy Mayor in New York City, Leah was Special Assistant for Media Relations. As Director of Communications for the New York City Comptroller, she developed influence campaigns and public policy positions on CEO pay, Swiss Bank secrecy and tobacco company litigation.

Leah began her communications career at the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation. She soon became Director of Public Affairs at Kings County Hospital Center, where she developed campaigns that helped inform public health policy on the treatment of HIV/AIDS. She went on to become Manager of Public Affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., crafting the company’s positions on breast implant safety and environmental issues.

Leah is an accomplished public speaker and frequently contributes to forums and seminars for communications professionals and business leaders.

A Brooklyn, New York native, Leah holds a B.A. in Psychology from Harvard College. She serves on the Harvard Schools Committee of New York City, and is the Chair of the Communications, Social Media and Advocacy Committee of the Vestry at Trinity Wall Street. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Planned Parenthood New York City and serves as a mentor with W.O.M.E.N. in America. Leah recently served on the Board of Trustee’s Executive Committee of The Dalton School, where she led the Board’s Community Life and Diversity Committee. Leah lives in New York City with her husband and their daughter.
