Career Profile
Lisa Shalett, a Partner at Goldman Sachs, has had a very diverse career during her 18 years at the firm. She is currently the Global Head of Brand Marketing and Digital Strategy, in the Executive Office. Prior to this, she was Chief Operating Officer of Global Compliance, Legal and Internal Audit, and before that was Head of International Equities Sales and Trading and co-Head of US Shares Institutional Sales in the Securities Division, where she spent the majority of her career. Lisa joined the firm as an Associate in 1995, became a Managing Director in 2000, and was invited to the Partnership in 2002. During her career she has led both revenue and non-revenue producing businesses, P&Ls across multiple geographies, and managed important client relationships across multiple cultures.

A skilled and talented senior operating executive, Lisa is a respected and accomplished leader, strategic thinker, problem solver, and committed coach and mentor, known for motivating people and investing in their development and success.

Lisa was asked to take on the role of Global Head of Brand Marketing and Digital Strategy in April 2010 to focus on the firm’s brand amidst the reputational challenges facing Wall Street. During this unprecedented period in the firm’s history, she has led the strategic development of the firm’s first corporate image advertising campaign, which was launched in September 2010 and has won a number of awards. She is enhancing the firm’s digital strategy, including the redesign of, and introducing new digital platforms, such as YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter presences, to enable Goldman Sachs to improve transparency and communications with key stakeholders. Her team oversees the creation of the firm’s Annual Report, as well as manages the marketing efforts for recruitment and for the firm’s corporate engagement programs, such as 10,000 Women and 10,000 Small Businesses.

Lisa is on the Board of Pine Street, Goldman Sachs’ senior leadership academy, and is a Senior Sponsor for affinity networks and career initiatives focused on leadership, diversity, and the promotion and retention of women. She participates in the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit. She serves on the Steering Committees of the Kellogg School’s Center for Executive Women, and the Women in Media Mentoring Initiative.

Lisa earned her MBA from Harvard Business School, and BA, summa cum laude, in East Asian Studies from Harvard University. She lives in New York with her husband and two sons.
